Peanut butter banana smoothie

A wonderful and tasty smoothie packed with good stuff!

An uplifting smoothie with natural sweetness

Whenever I feel a little low, peanut butter provides me a bit of relief. I don’t know if it’s because I ate peanut butter a lot during my childhood or if it just naturally appeals to our human taste buds. This wonderful and tasty peanut butter banana smoothie is free from added sugars and contains pumpkin seeds, avocado and rice milk. This creates a lovely natural smoothness and sweetness.

Prepare with rice milk, almond milk, soy milk or just water

I made this peanut butter banana smoothie with rice milk, but you can also use another vegetable milk. Especially if you are very sensitive to sugar or are on a diabetic diet, you definitely don’t want to use rice milk.  Even if it doesn’t contain added sugars, rice milk is usually quite sweet. Most of the time, the fibre has been filtered out and only the sweet part of the rice is left inside the milk. Almond milk, soy milk or just plain water are good low glycemic substitutes. You can of course try to prepare rice milk yourself, which will give you the chance to create a more natural alternative to what you might find in the shop.

  • 1 banana
  • rice milk
  • 1 handful pumpkin seeds
  • 1 tbsp hemp powder or seed
